Daniel M. Charles Masonville, NY Daniel Merton Charles, 46, of Masonville, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Daniel was born on April 17, 1962, son of Russell J. and Hazel (Mills) Charles in Sidney. On August 25, 1984, Daniel married Kela Anderson in Masonville, NY. Daniel was a stone cutter for Heldeburg Quarries in Sidney (now American Blue Stone), working there for 22 years. He was a former member of the Masonville Fire Department. Danny's lifelong idol was film star John "Duke" Wayne. Daniel is survived by: Loving wife of nearly 25 years, Kela Charles Masonville 2 sons, Daniel L. Charles and his wife, Rebecca Unadilla Shayne Charles and his fianc Jessie Rude Rockdale 1 daughter: Leah Charles Masonville His mother, Hazel Charles Masonville 2 grandsons: Daniel and Devin Charles 1 granddaughter: Leelah Charles 2 brothers: Wayne and Nancy Charles Sidney David Charles Masonville 3 sisters: Judy and Carl Beers Masonville Kathy and Charlie Carvin Oneonta Nancy and Donald Rivenburg Masonville As well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins Danny was predeceased by his father, Russell J. Charles. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 11:00am-1:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Robert Howard, pastor of the Masonville Federated Church, officiating. Burial will be held at Masonville Cemetery, Masonville, NY. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.
