Neoma Mae Young
Binghamton--Neoma Mae Young, 97, formerly of Windsor, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Willow Point Nursing Home. Neoma was born on March 15, 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota, daughter of the late Joseph and Mahalia (Briggs) Johnson.
Neoma and her husband, Clifford, were former owners of the Colony Inn in Windsor. Neoma loved to bake and her family will sadly miss her apple pie and chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing Rummy. She also loved to sew, with her talents including prom dresses and many American Girl doll outfits.
Neoma will be missed by: two daughters: Mary and Tom Harris of Rochester and Shirley Goodison of Binghamton; eleven grandchildren: Linda Johnson, James Goodison, Teresa Wolf, Michael Goodison, Cheryl Mirabito, William Goodison, Suzanne DeAugustino, Karen Rickard, Kathy Miller, Julie Alliet and Thomas A. Harris; 26 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special "granddaughter" Lori Harris.
Neoma was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Young in 1990, as well as by her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Mary Johnson, and her sister, Estella McIntyre.
Friends are invited to call from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, January 25, 2016 at J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 26th at the funeral chapel with Rev. Ernie Steffensen officiating. Committal in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY, will follow.
