Madelene "Skeet" Slade Mt. Upton—Madelene "Skeet" Cora Slade, 93, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Ideal Senior Living Center in Endicott. She was born on April 22, 1922, daughter of the late June and Loretta (Brown) Howland. She was married to Arnold E. Slade, Sr. who predeceased her in 2005. Skeet enjoyed bingo, car races, socializing at picnics and parties with her many family members and friends, and especially being known to countless people in the community as "Gram Slade". She is survived by her children: Jan Harrington, Varnold (Kathy) Slade, Letitia (Donald) Blackman and Bunny Dockery; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, May Cummings and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her children: Robert Eck, Sally Mayes, Arnold Slade, Jr. and Timothy Morrell; granddaughter, Lisa Groeschel; and brothers, Herbert Howland and Harry (Pat) Howland. Friends may call from 11:00am-1:00pm on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Ben Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Borden Hose Fire Dept., 1697 St. Hwy 8, Mt. Upton, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1893 Memphis, TN 38101-9950. Condolences may be shared online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H.
