Unadilla, NY - James H. Beers, 79, died peacefully from natural causes at home on Saturday, December 26, 2015. He grew up on Pine Swamp Rd in Sidney Center and served two tours in the U.S. Army in the 50's. He was a craftsman and made his living as a cabinet maker and builder. He was a life long member of the Unadilla Rod & Gun Club, and served his community as the Master of Ceremony for the Annual Halloween Program in Unadilla for 45 years. He could often be seen around town with a smile on his face, a joke to tell, and because of his love for gardening a tomato to share. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was born on March 27, 1936, son of the late Florence & Victor Beers. He is survived by Sherry, three sons and daughter-in-laws, James M. Beers and wife Lisa, Thomas A. Beers and wife Tamera, and Rusty L. Beers and wife Bobbi Jo; 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Lynsi, Hanna, Leah, Emma, Isabelle, and Logan. Brother to Betty McWherter, Grace Backus, Joan Merritt, the late Victor Beers, Stan Beers, Karl Beers, and Larry Beers. A funeral service and arrangements were held at C.H. Landers Funeral Home on Monday December 28, 2015.
