Obituary of Martin Peloso, Sr.

Martin "Frank" Peloso, Sr. Franklin, NY Martin "Frank" Peloso, Sr., 82, of Franklin passed away on Tuesday morning, December 1, 2015 at his home after a battle with cancer. Frank was born on September 18, 1933 in New York City, the son of the late John and Margaret (Hehn) Peloso. Following high school, Frank served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until his discharge in 1954. On October 31, 1954, Frank married Lorraine Veneruso in the Bronx. They shared 54 happy years together until Lorraine predeceased him on March 3, 2009. Frank was a lineman for NY Telephone for 50 years. Following retirement, he ran a dairy farm until the early 1980's. Frank had a deep love for animals, especially horses. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Sidney. Frank was a dedicated family man; he spent much of his time supporting his wife's numerous endeavors and involvements. Frank will be missed by: two sons and daughters-in-law: Martin and Linda Peloso of Bainbridge Lawrence and Jacqueline Peloso of Mt. Upton daughter, Laurie Peloso, Unadilla seven grandchildren: Joshua and Sheri Youngs of Sidney, Jessica Youngs of East Hartford, CT, Lawrence Peloso, Jr. of Mt. Upton, Roseanna Peloso of Oneonta, Amanda and Aaron Chapin of Davenport, Mark Peloso of Mt. Upton and Beth Peloso of Mt. Upton great-granddaughter, Molly Youngs of Sidney Brother, John and Margaret Peloso of Florida Four sisters: Margaret Ryan of Long Island, NY; Ruth Ruffino of Florida; Barbara and Joe Malanio of Florida and Lorraine Marino of Rye, NY Faithful feline companion, Maxie As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, and his beloved Lorraine, Frank was predeceased by his sister, Janice Lozano and an infant granddaughter, Christy Peloso in 1984. Friends are invited to call from 7:00-9:00pm on Friday, December 4, 2015 and from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, December 5th at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty Street, Sidney with Monsignor James Cox officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank's memory may be directed to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr. Oneonta, NY 13820.
