Evelyn Youngs, Afton, NY
Evelyn Frances LeSuer Youngs died at the Veterans Home in Oxford NY on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
Evelyn was born on December 5, 1923 in Afton, NY; the daughter of William and Mabel (Smith) LeSuer. She married Clarence Youngs on July 20, 1942 and they were married 69 years. She was predeceased by her husband (2011). She is survived by her five children, William Youngs & wife Peggy of Grand Blanc, MI, her son Barry Youngs & wife Dianne of Lumberton, NC, her daughter Barbara Cleaveland, Oneonta, NY, her daughter Judy Cannistra of Clarence, NY, her son Steven Youngs & wife Mary of Afton, NY. She also leaves behind her sister-in-laws Martha (Youngs) Smith of Bainbridge, NY & Eileen (Youngs) Keeler of New Windsor, NY as well as (15) grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren.
Evelyn enjoyed music, sewing and crafts as well as playing Bingo. During her last four years she lived at the Plains & Hampshire House in Oneonta and the Veterans Home in Oxford NY where she met and enjoyed many new friends.
Evelyn retired from Bendix Corp after 25 years. She and Clarence spent and enjoyed their retirement years traveling to Florida during the winter months and camping with their camping club.
A 'celebration of life" memorial service will be held in the Summer of 2016.
