Obituary of Charles Merlin LaRose

Charles M. LaRose Unadilla, NY Charles M.LaRose 81 of Unadilla passed away unexepectedly on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Tritown Regional Hospital in Sidney. He was born April 8, 1934 son of the late Charles and Cecelia (Foley) LaRose in Benson Mines, NY. Chuck's early childhood was spent in Star Lake, NY. They later moved to Downsville in 1948 where he graduated. On February 14, 1953 he married Betty Budine. Shortly after he was drafted into the United States Army. He served two years, 18 months of which was in Germany as a member of the Big Red 1. In 1955 Chuck and Betty moved to the Sidney area where they spent their life together. Chuck was very active in sports. He played baseball for the Sidney Cardinals, Sidney softball, he bowled and coached his boys in Little League baseball. He was an avid golfer and helped his family learn the game, he was also a hunting enthusiast. Chuck worked at Amphenol in Sidney for 41 years as a machinist and supervisor, retiring in 1996. He is survived by beloved wife, Betty, Unadilla 4 Sons – Michael and Ruth Mark and Rebecca Tom and Sherry Scott and Michelle Daughter – Laurie and Sam Doss Sister – Charlotte and Gary Woods Brothers Leland and Judy LaRose Randy LaRose 11 Grandchildren 7 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins Friends may call Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4-8 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel with Fr. Gordon Polenz officiating.
