Obituary of Milton Roger Barnes

Milton Roger Barnes Unadilla, NY Milton Roger Barnes, "Barney", 81, of Unadilla, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City. He was born on July 10, 1934, son of the late Milton Royal and Mildred C. (Karcher) Barnes in Binghamton. On October 13, 1956, he was married to Juanita Joyce Buyea and they shared 58 years of marriage. Barney was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Sidney American Legion. He worked as a machinist for Amphenol Corp. for many years, retiring at age 62. He was also a dedicated life member of Sidney Fire Department, Phelps Hose Co, the Scott Rod & Gun Club in Scott Center, PA and the Tin Can Sailors. He is survived by: his wife, Joyce Barnes of Unadilla; 4 children: Mark and Cathy Barnes of Unadilla, Alison and Rick Barnes of Unadilla, Tim Barnes and Jeanette Stevens of Sidney and Lisa (Barnes) French of Unadilla; grandchildren: Christopher Barnes, Michelle Crandall, Donald Wood, II, Sean Wood, Nicole Wood, Justin Barnes, Taylor Barnes, Doug Bryden, Derek Bryden, Hunter Stevens, Spencer Stevens, Brett (Laura) French and Joseph Ermeti; great-grandchildren: Zoe-Beth Crandall, Jack Redmond, Rhian Gill and Ethan and Ava French; brothers, Richard Barnes of Sidney and Edward and Mary Barnes of Sidney; sisters, Dolores and Ed Wilson of Sidney, Janice and Jim Mills of Walton and Barbara Cawley of Bainbridge; his beloved dog, Jake; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and all of his brothers at the Scott Rod & Gun Club. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his son, Eric Barnes in 2011. Friends are invited to call from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, July 25th and from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday, July 26th at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 26th with Eugene Pigford officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Roger's memory may be directed to: the Sidney Fire Dept.
