Obituary of Matthew W. Johnson

Matthew W. Johnson Bainbridge Matthew W. Johnson, 73, of Bainbridge, died on Friday, March 6, at Tri-Town Regional Hospital. Matthew was born on August 3, 1941 to Frank and Margret Johnson of Brooklyn New York. Matthew enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1958 and was assigned to President Dwight D. Eisenhower for the duration of his service. Upon his discharge from the Marines in 1962, Matthew became a New York City Police officer and served until 1982. Matthew leaves behind his wife Julia, 6 children, 12 grand children, 2 pups, 10 grandpups, 5 grandkitties, and will be met in heaven by those who have gone before him. All that needs to be said of Matthews life can be said with the following..."Many a man will follow in his footprints, but no man will ever fill his boots". Friends may call on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Fr. Darr Schoenhofen officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in the spring.
