Ward H. Bradish Masonville, NY Ward was born in the Town of Coventry, NY on December 11, 1925, the son of Forest V. Bradish and Iza L. Harrington. He died on September 22, 2009 in Rochester, NY at the Elizabeth and Jennifer Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Ward was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, class of 1943, and was a member of the B-G Alumni Association. He served in the US Army during WWII as a medic in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He was a long time member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge and served on the vestry and also as a warden. Ward was an active member of the Bainbridge Fire Department for 37 years, served as a fire commissioner, and was named Fireman of the Year in 1976. He served on the Bainbridge Village Board as a trustee for 8 years and was a Republican Committeeman for 14 years. He was a 57 year member and past master of the Bainbridge-Afton Masonic Lodge 167 and was currently Warden of the Lodge and Treasurer. He was named a New York State Mason of the Year in 2009. He had been employed by Charles H Eldred Feed Co in Bainbridge for 23 years and I.L. Richer Co in Norwich, NY for 15 years retiring in 1993. He is survived by his second wife Elaine Barre Young Bradish of Masonville, NY. He is also survived by his three daughters and their families: Linda and Peter Knightes of Killeen, TX, Mary and Charles Scott of Millbrook, NY, and Janet and Wayne Machamer of Fairport, NY. Two sisters survive him: Guyva Johnston of Oneonta, NY and Erma and Steve Punako of Bainbridge, NY. He is also survived by his stepdaughters and their families: Judy and Jon Seeley and Jeri and Lynn Brayman, both of Masonville, NY. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Jean L. Grippin Bradish in 1991, and his sisters Shirley Cieslak and Ester Hendrix. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 pm, Sunday, September 27th at the C.H. Landers Funeral Home, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY. A Masonic Service will take place at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Monday, September 28th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bainbridge. Internment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge, NY will follow the funeral. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bainbridge, NY or the Hildebrandt Hospice, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester NY, 14626.
