Obituary of Ronald J. Smith

Ronald Joseph Smith, Sr. March 7, 1947 – February 9, 2015 Ronald Smith, Sr. (67) of Sidney, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2015 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Ronald was born on March 7, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Smith, Sidney, N.Y.; brother, Peter Timberlake, of Sidney, N.Y.; his 4 children, Ronald (Joe) Smith, Jr. of Sidney, N.Y., Harold (Harry) Smith and wife Joely, of Topeka, K.S., Elizabeth (Liz) Smith, of Cary, N.C., and John Smith, of Topeka, K.S. He is also survived by his 2 step-children, Tracy Beers, of Sidney, N.Y.; and Christina (Chrissy) Heath and husband Daniel, of Guilford, N.Y. Along with his grandchildren; Samantha, Jakob, Lukas, Jade, Parker, Emma and Dominick. Ron was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Timberlake; step-father, George; brother, Harry; and step-mother, Eleanor. Calling hours will be held at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, N.Y. on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 4pm-6pm. A memorial service will follow at 6pm with Rev. Benjamin Shaw officiating.
