Laraine M. Bailey Sidney, NY Laraine May Bailey, 68 of 18 Seneca Street, Sidney, NY passed away on Friday morning, September 11, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Laraine courageously battled rheumatoid arthritis for seven years. Laraine was born in Sidney on February 1, 1941, the daughter of George Russell and Vernice Dunshee Russell. Laraine married Howard Bailey on October 1, 1965 and would have celebrated 44 years of marriage this October. Laraine is survived by her husband, Howard, and two sons, Scott Bailey and Michael Shapley. She is also survived by a sister, Paula Middleton of Virginia. She was predeceased by her father and mother. Larraine graduated from Oneonta High School and went on to become a beautician. After marrying Howard, she became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Friends are invited to call from1:00-2:00pm on Monday, September 14, 2009 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Laraine's name may be directed to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive Oneonta, NY 13820. Expressions of symapthy may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com. The family would like to thank hospice for their devoted care and understanding as well as Jean Whitaker and Karen Constable for their time and caring.
