Obituary of Mary K. Dermody

Mary K. Dermody Sidney, NY God called Mary K. Dermody home to Heaven on September 23, 2014. Mary was born in Narrowsburg, New York, the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine Kutcher. Mary and her husband, Jim, deceased in 1987, moved to Sidney to raise a family after World War II. Mary was a homemaker, a school cafeteria worker and an Election Board member. She was a devout Catholic, a dignified lady who loved her family, a kind neighbor and a generous friend. Mary was one of five sisters. She was predeceased by her siblings: Ruth (Henry), Margaret (Mike) and Dorothy (Bruce). Her sister, Gertrude (Len) resides in PA. Mary was the beloved mother of Susan (Bill) and James. She was the cherished Gram to Brian, Lori (Brian), Ryan (Hannah), Kelly (Jeremias) and Megan. Mary was the proud and loving Great-Grammy to Max, Matthew and Jeremiah. She was a special aunt to Patty, Terry, Mary Jane, Barbara, Kathy and Barbara Anne. Mary was buried at a graveside ceremony, conducted by the Reverend Gordon Polenz, at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney. To honor Mary, perform an act of kindness in her memory.
