Obituary of Joan D. Loudon

Joan D. Loudon Sidney, NY Joan D. Loudon, 83, of Sidney, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was born on January 8, 1931 in Stamford, only child of the late Leland Joseph and Mildred Grace (Danforth) Davenport. Joan was married to Donald C. Loudon on October 10, 1953 in Harpersfield. He predeceased her on June 5, 2006 after 52 years of marriage. Joan worked at the Sidney Memorial Public Library because of her love of reading. She was also a dedicated member of the Sidney United Methodist Church for 60 years. She is survived by: 4 children: Marla and Gerald Dewey, Christopher and Teresa Loudon, Steven and Linda Loudon and Craig Loudon and Susan Lyons. 5 grandchildren: Christopher, Maris and her husband, Kendall, Jaima and her husband, Chris, Alyssa and Joe 3 great-grandchildren: Christopher, Loudon and Alden A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Sidney United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty St., Sidney, NY 13838 with Rev. Benjamin Shaw officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation Tri-State Chapter, 59 Front St. Binghamton, NY 13905 or to the American Scleroderma Foundation online at www.scleroderma.org.
