Obituary of Francie Goff

Please share a memory of Francie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frances (Gifford) Goff A beautiful soul who blessed every life she came into contact with, the first people to receive this blessing were her mother (Bea) and father (Carl) when they welcomed her into the world on February 27th of 1960. Elder brothers John, Mike, and David were the next to love and guide her in the journey of life; and she was lucky enough to become a big sister with the arrival of Jeanne and Huck. Anyone who had the luck to cross paths with Francie quickly learned that her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life were her sons, Corey and Darren McElligott. She placed her role as a mother as her most important life task - imparting lessons in manners, love, caring, charity and forgiveness. Another major milestone in her life in which she took great pride was the day she accepted the last name Goff and united her existing family with that of her devoted husband Mitch; that was the day both Mitch and his daughter Kelly were brought into the lucky family whose lives were touched by this wonderful woman. Francie had an innate gift for nurturing and compassion that made her an incredible daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt and friend. Her love knew no bounds, and a gift this wonderful was too good not to share. It’s been said that if you choose a job you love you’ll never work a day in your life. Francie found her calling by simply doing what she did best - helping, healing and caring for others. Healing was a lifelong passion; she began her journey as a healer by becoming a nurse. But she quickly realized there is more to healing than the body alone. By adding energy work and various forms of holistic healing into the fold she was able to heal not just the body, but the mind and soul of a person as well. Her sense of charity was an example to others; if she came across a person in need she would make sure they walked away with more than enough. From humble beginnings on a farm in Masonville, NY to traveling the globe, everywhere she went was a little bit better when she left it. Francie was needed somewhere else; and even though we weren’t ready to let her go, she left this world a little bit better than when she entered it. Her light still shines in all of us - and we welcome you to come and share the joy of her life at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney on Friday, June 20th from 6-8 PM, and again on Saturday, June 21st from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm. A celebration of her life will begin at 2:00pm led by the Rev. Marcia Napolitano. In lieu of flowers Francie has requested donations be made to the Hospice or animal rescue center of your choice. Condolences and memories may be shared with her family online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
