Obituary of Thelma H. Baldwin

Thelma H. Baldwin East Guilford, NY Thelma H. Baldwin, 93, of Hilltop Campus, Johnson City, and formerly of East Guilford, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2014. Thelma was born on August 21, 1920, daughter of the late Louis and Edith (Harkness) Hodges in Franklin, NY. She received her Associates Degree from the University of New York at Cobleskill in 1942. She worked for many years in data processing for Bendix Corp. in Sidney as well as for the Sidney Central School, retiring in 1984. On May 10, 1947, Thelma was married to Donald J. Baldwin in Franklin, NY. He predeceased her on April 7, 1971. She was a longtime dedicated member of the East Guilford Presbyterian Church and served on numerous committees there. Thelma is survived: her son and daughter-in-law, Mark O. and Alexandra Baldwin of Binghamton; brother-in-law, Bryon Bookhout of Dover, DE; sister-in-law, Brenda Baldwin of Holland Patent, NY; niece, Anne and Steve Wilson of Maryland, as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Thelma was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Bookhout. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Committal will take place in the spring in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Thelma's memory may be directed to either the East Guilford Presbyterian Church or to the Sidney Emergency Squad.
