Rex Lee Carey 52 of Sidney Center passed unexpectedly Friday November 22, 2013. He was born August 8, 1961 to Glenn A. and Beatrice (Campbell) Carey in Walton NY. He graduated from Sidney High School, class of 1980. He enjoyed being a mechanic and working on cars. He had a pure passion for muscle cars and Nascar. Rex was an auto mechanic specialist in the Army; from 1980-1984.
Rex was survived by his Mother Betty, his wife Mary A. (Carson) Carey, Children; Ashley Carey, Cody Carey, Lyndsay Carey and Tyler Carey. Step Children; Thomas Carson, Derrick Fink, Veronica Bates, Stephanie Bates and Frank Smith Jr. Grandchildren Morgan, Taliya, Amelia and Brently. Step grandchildren; Michael, Ulric, Joseph, Nathaniel and Carter. Also survived by brothers; James Carey Sr., Myron Carey Sr., Blaine Carey Sr., Adolphe Casse 3rd., Phillip Casse, Alexandar Donenko, Michael Carey, Seth Carey, Josh Carey, and Sisters; Margretta (Donenko) Abare, Jessica (Carey)Bradt and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at C.H. Landers Funeral Home 21 Main St. Sidney, NY
