Obituary of Nina Nellie Lashway

Nina Nellie Lashway Afton, NY Nina Nellie Lashway, 76, of Afton, went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, October 25, 2013 at Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney. She was born on November 3, 1936, daughter of the late Carl and Martha (Russell) Holmes in Oxford, NY. Nina was married to John E. Lashway in Nunda, NY on August 13, 1978 and they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage together. She was predeceased by her husbands, John Page, in 1958 and Charles Simonds, in 1976. Before retirement, Nina worked in accounting and payroll for American Plastics in Bainbridge. Nina's faith was very important to her. She was a member of the Mehoopany Baptist Church in Mehoopany, PA where she used to help in the nursery and with Sunday School. She also attended the First Baptist Church of Afton. Nina is survived by: Loving husband, John E. Lashway, Afton 2 Sons: John and Michele Simonds, Afton Shawn and Doreen Simonds, Enoree, SC 3 Step-Sons: Steve and Wendy Lashway, Fountain Inn, SC Darrell and Cynthia Lashway, Madison, MS Michael Lashway, Enoree, SC 4 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren Sister, Mary Howe, Oxford Brother, Carl Holmes, Cuba, NY Brother, Charles Holmes, Elmira Sister, Glenna Stevens, Carolina Beach, NC As well as numerous nieces and nephews In addition to her parents and spouses, Nina was predeceased by two sisters, Lillian Howe and Josie Robertson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Afton, 30 Caswell Street. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Westgate Christian School, 1990 Old Reidville Road Spartanburg, SC 29301.
