Obituary of Oliver G. Hicks

Oliver G. Hicks, Jr. - Afton, NY Oliver G. Hicks, Jr. 59, of Melondy Hill Road, Afton, NY, died unexpectedly October 4, 2013, at his home. He is survived by his wife Nancy Lewis Hicks and two daughters, Melinda Stroud of Farmingville, NY and Amanda and her husband, Jamie Archibald of Franklin, NY. He was also a grandfather to Juliana and Kaleb, who he adored. Ollie also left behind his younger brothers John Hicks and Paul Hicks, both of Sayville, NY and Raymond Hicks of Florida. Ollie studied forestry at Paul Smith's college; he loved the outdoors and hoped to retire soon from his job at Amphenol. He will be greatly missed by many! Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 9th at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Liberty St. in Sidney with Fr. Gordon Polenz officiating. Friends may call at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney on Tuesday October 8, 6-8 pm and Wednesday 10-11 am.
