Mildred R. Johnson 92 of Sidney passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Otsego Manor in Cooperstown.
She was born December 3, 1920, daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Wright) Rathbun in Oneonta.
Millie attended college in Delhi and Hartwick. She married Walter F. Johnson on June 6, 1942 in Unadilla; he predeceased her on December 15, 2002.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson owned and operated a dairy farm and Johnson Farm Market in Sidney from 1949 - 1986. They provided the local area with sweet corn, produce, Christmas trees and valued gardening advice to anyone who asked.
Not only was Millie a hardworking farm wife she was also a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church of Sidney, the Hill and Valley Garden, BPW and the Hospital Guild. Late in life Millie and Walt took up golf which she excelled and really enjoyed. Millie was a true lady, always the first to smile. She believed in the good in people, never saying a bad word about anyone. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother to her family which she cared for with unconditional love.

Millie was also predeceased by her brother, John Rathbun and Son-in-law, John Axtell
Friends may call Monday, September 23. 2013 from 5-7 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney and Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the First Congregational Church on Bridge St. in Sidney from 1-2 PM. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the church with Rev. Pat Robinson officiating. Burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney will be private.
