Betty L. Hamilton

Betty L. Hamilton 87 formerly of Sidney passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at Chenango Valley Assisted Living in Norwich.

She was born March 22, 1926, daughter of the late Fred and Maude (Mattice) Atkinson in Norwich.

Betty married Paul G. Hamilton on March 17, 1946 in Norwich. He predeceased her on October 1, 1975.

For several years Betty ran her cake business locally from her home. When she lived in Florida she was employed by the Venice High School in food service.

She is survived by:

Sons and daughter-in-laws - Paul and Pat Hamilton, Sidney

Kenneth and Linda Hamilton, Little River, SC

Gary and Penny Hamilton, Sidney

Robert and Janet Hamilton, Fort Mill, SC

Daughters and son-in-laws - Sharron and Art Sandberg, Norwich

Barbara Hardie, Endicott

11 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren

Several nieces, nephews and cousins

Betty is also predeceased by 7 Brothers, Harold Mattice, Leroy, Frederick, Kenneth, Donald, Otto and Robert Atkinson and 1 Sister, Dorothy Brush.

Friends may call Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral chapel with Rev. Gary Bonebrake, Pastor of the Main St. Baptist Church in Oneonta officiating.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
