Obituary of Bruce Stanley Macumber

Bruce S. Macumber Guilford, NY The Lord took Bruce S. Macumber of Guilford to be with him on August 20, 2013. He was born September 25, 1950 son of Stanley and Florence Macumber in Sidney. Bruce served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with various medals and commendations. Upon his return home Bruce joined the South New Berlin Fire Department. In 1989 he and his family moved to Guilford and he joined the fire department and became an EMT. Bruce was elected chief and served that position for 18 years, the longest standing chief. Bruce's dedication of time with the fire department to his community, had earned him many awards as well as being honored as Citizen of the Year in 2012. Bruce was an outgoing person who loved to tease everyone. He was a faithful and loving husband who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking, golfing and bowling. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Grace. 5 children Amy and Joseph Abbott, Timothy and Lynn Macumber, Chipper and Nicole Graham, Kipper and Christina Graham and Richard Macumber. 10 Grandchildren 11 siblings and many nieces, nephews. Bruce will be dearly missed by his family, church family and friends of the Guilford community and surrounding town. Friends may call Friday, August 23, 2013 from 6-9 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel. Burial with Fire Service Honors will follow in Butternut Valley Cemetery.
