Richard A. Coe Sidney, NY Richard Alex Coe, of Sidney, passed away on Friday August 2, 2013 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford. Dick was born on April 21, 1927 in Sidney to Alex and Lena (Robinson) Coe. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army in Germany from July 1945 to January 1947. For 30 years, he was employed by A & P retiring in 1976 as manager. A lifelong NY Giants fan, he enjoyed the games he attended sitting on the 50 yard line with his best friend, Dick Cooley. He was a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion and Elks. Dick is survived by his three children from his marriage to Barbara Branham: Stephen (Wendy) Coe, Deborah (Andrew) Tomasello and Laura (Daniel) Bartz; his grandchildren: Cheryl, Kathy (Jeremy), Barbara, Ryan (Sarah), Nathan, Justin, Will, Pia, Corey, Brandon and Holly; great-grandchildren: Kaylah, Olivia, Evelyn, Addison and Cameron; sister, Norma Haldeman; brother, Robert (Josie) Coe and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Esther and Mary, and a brother, Claude. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Sidney United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the NYS Veterans Home, 4207 State Highway 220, Oxford, NY 13830 or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
