Obituary of Carolyn Ruth Davis

Carolyn R. Davis Sidney, NY Carolyn R. Davis, of Sidney, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning, July 12, 2013 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Davis; one son, Jeffrey Davis of McKinney, TX and his son, Austin; one daughter, Sandra Britz of Austin, TX and her two sons, Jacob and Zachary; and her sister and brother-in-law, Val and Joe Terrell of Minneapolis, MN. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Ruth (Toner) George, and her brother, Allen. Carolyn graduated from Afton Central School in 1952 and was an insurance secretary until her marriage in 1957. She was a very artistic person, having painted many pictures in oil. She was a "stay at home mom", but after her children grew up, while living in Texas, Carolyn was a retail sales person for three different specialty shops, selling sea shells, many of which she painted, and eclectic clothing and Texas novelties. Carolyn also enjoyed flower gardening, especially roses, and she loved the country and watching wildlife. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00noon on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 12:00noon in the funeral chapel.
