Obituary of Norman Owens Marks

Norman O. Marks Unadilla, NY Norman Owens Marks, 86, of Unadilla, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his home with his devoted wife by his side. Norman was born on August 20, 1926, son of the late William A. and Ruth L. (Owens) Marks in Sherburne. Following high school, Norman enlisted in the US Army and served from March 1947 until his honorable discharge in January 1950. A longtime employee of Amphenol Corp. in Sidney, Norm retired as the Supervisor of Planning and Inventory Control in 1984. On August 8, 1953, Norm was married to Viola Lorraine Gossoo in the Sidney United Methodist Church. They shared nearly 60 years of happiness together. Norm is survived by: Beloved wife, Viola Marks of Unadilla 3 Sisters-in-law: Geneva Sanford of Sidney Center, Patricia Marks of Oxford and Marie Marks of Brisben As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center. Memorial donations in Norm's name may be directed to the Unadilla Fire Department and Emergency, 72 Clifton Street Unadilla, NY 13849.
