Evelyn F. Morlano, 86, of Sidney, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was born on November 17, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Elias (Frank) and Margaret T. (Griffin) Frazier.
Evelyn grew up in Brooklyn where she graduated from Holy Family Elementary School and All Saints Commercial High School.
She married John Morlano on July 8, 1945 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Brooklyn and they moved to the Sidney area in 1947. Evelyn worked a variety of jobs, including production planning at Bendix Corp. in Sidney, the Norwich Radio Station and Keith Clark. Evelyn retired from the Tri-Town News newspaper in Sidney in 1984, after 20 years in their subscription department.
Evelyn had a deep love for her family, and she was the glue that held it together. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Evelyn embodied both the strength of a rock and the softness of silk.
She was a compassionate, understanding, supportive, gracious and unconditionally loving woman who will be dearly missed by:

Nine grandchildren: John and Holly Fink; Kim and Eric Bumgarner; Douglas, Jr. and Michele Bush; Dan Bush and Kim Valentine; James Cannon; Charles Cannon; Melissa and Vincent Johnson; Nathan Teale; and Deanna and Bobby Behnke
14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren

As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, John, and her daughter, Donna. Her brother, Edwin Frazier, four sisters: Eleanor Barnes, Dorothy Linkroum, Catherine Binion and Marjorie Nolan, and aunt, Catherine Dowler, also predeceased her.
At Evelyn's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 15 Liberty Street Sidney, NY 13838. Fr. Gordon Polenz, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow Mass in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Evelyn's memory may be directed to the Sidney Food Bank c/o United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty Street Sidney, NY 13838.
