Elena M. Taggart Bainbridge , NY Elena M. (Ellie) Taggart, 46 of Bainbridge passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at M.I. Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown after a short but courageous battle against cancer. Elena was born on October 26, 1962, daughter of Archie and Bianca ( Lanzi ) Fiorini in Fulton, NY. Elena graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, and continued on to attend college at SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Oneonta, obtaining her masters in education. On May 24, 1986, Ellie married Peter Taggart in Franklin, NY. Ellie greatly enjoyed children, and was a reading teacher at Greenlawn Elementary School in Bainbridge for nine years. She was also active with the Bainbridge Rec Club as well as the Summer Reading Program. Ellie loved life and enjoyed scrap booking all of her wonderful memories. She was also a voracious reader. For all her passions, Elena's greatest joy was in her family. A wonderful woman and mother, she was greatly loved, and will be truly missed. Elena is survived by: Loving husband of 23 years, Peter Taggart of Bainbridge Two loving daughters, Sarah and Hannah Taggart, both of Bainbridge Her parents, Bianca and Archie Fiorini of Fulton Her sister, Silvia and three brothers: Dan, Steve and Mark Her special friend, Trevor Halaquist As well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Friends are invited to call on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 4:00-8:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Street Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty Street, Sidney with Rev. Fr. Robert Stephenson officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elena's name may be directed to either the Bainbridge Free Library 13 North Main St. Bainbridge, NY 13733 or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org . Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com . The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to all the friends and family who helped and showed their support through Ellie's illness; you all were a blessing.
