Foster W. Bullis, Sr. Afton, NY Foster W. Bullis, Sr. 80 of Afton passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. He was born December 30, 1932, son of the late William and Willma (Hoolihan) Bullis in Hancock. Foster grew up in the Hancock area and later moved to the family farm in Granton. He married Lavina Evans on September 2, 1956 in Deposit. Foster worked part-time as a school bus driver in Deposit and as a stone cutter. He retired from NYS Corrections Department at Camp Pharsalia in 1991. After he retired, Foster went in to the woods and worked as a logger with his son until his health deteriorated. Foster was a devoted member of Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Sidney and a member of the Afton Emergency Squad and Fire Department. Foster is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lavina Bullis, Afton Son - Foster W. Bullis, Jr. Afton Grandchildren - William and Ashley Bullis, Texas Grandson - Curt Bullis and his wife Diana, Afton 4 Great Grandsons, Afton Granddaughter Briana Marshall, Rome Brother - Ritchie Bullis and his wife Dorothy, Harpursville 2 Sisters - Marilyn Thomas and husband Donald, Windsor Carolyn Monhey and husband Don, Bainbridge Services will be private and at the convenience of the family In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org Condolences may be made online at www.landersfh.com Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel Sidney.
