Martha J. Puffer West Bainbridge, NY Martha (Nana) Puffer 80 of West Bainbridge passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. She was born October 13, 1928, daughter of the late Frank and Niona (McCall) in Walton. Martha married Gleason Puffer on April of 1949. They later divorced. She had worked for many years at Lockwood's clothing in Bainbridge and retired from Amphenol in Sidney in 1993. Martha and Walt Backus, her companion of 16 years would spend 3 months in Wildwood, FL. She enjoyed dancing, country music and loved to crochet and cross- stitch. Everyone she knew had a pair of her ever famous "Nana boot socks". Nana touched many lives and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by: Brother - Francis 'Bud" Scoville 3 Sons - Lonnie and Kathy Puffer, Walton Keith Puffer, Bainbridge Gleason Jr. and Diane Puffer, Unadilla Daughter- Kathy and Dale Herring, Unadilla Several grandchildren and great grandchildren Loving companion - Walt Backus, Sidney And Phoebe the Cat She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Christina Bourassa and Gleason Puffer, Sr. Friends may call Monday, June 8, 2009 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bainbridge and Coventry Fire Dept. and EMS. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.landersfh.com Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel Sidney.
