Bertha Jane Triffo Harpursville, NY Bertha Jane Triffo, 71, of Harpursville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City. Bertha was born on November 6, 1941 in Springville, PA, daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Bolles) Mitchell. She worked most of her life as a nurses aid caring for others. In her free time, Bertha could be found volunteering at the Next 2 New or the Delaware Valley Humane Society. She had a love for animals, and a compassionate, caring soul for people and animals alike. Recently, Bertha was attending the First Baptist Church of Afton. Bertha had a sweetness to her that will be sorely missed by many, including her daughters: Ellen Hughs and her companion Charles McKendrick of Sidney; Laura and Don Lisenby of Sidney and their children, Ryan, Sean, Garrett and Heather; and Diana and Curt Bullis of Afton and their children, Nathaniel, Dawson, Curtis and Zachary; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Neil Reigle of Binghamton, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Bertha's life with be held at 10:30am on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Caswell Street, Afton, with Rev. Chris Prezorski, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha's memory may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
