Eugene J. (EJ) Palombo Hudson, NY Eugene J. (EJ) Palombo passed away on November 25, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY. He was born in Sidney on May 13, 1936 to the late Eugene and Dorothy (Ingalls) Palombo. EJ graduated from Sidney High School in 1954. He briefly worked at Keith Clark before serving in the United States Army. Upon discharge, he then took a civilian position with the United States Coast Guard. After his unit closed, EJ worked for the Columbia County Department of Social Services until retirement. EJ was very active in his church, Sacred Heart-Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He also enjoyed Bingo, church events and visiting friends. Surviving are: his brother, Louis and Carolyn Palombo of Afton and his children: Michael and Dee Palombo, Terry and Dave Dundon and Karen and Ralph Bidwell; his sister, Karen Rosa of Bainbridge and her children: Scott and Sherri Rosa, Steve Rosa, Jenny and Brian Sweet and Shelly and Steve Terzo, in addition to many great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty Street Sidney, NY 13838, with Fr. Gordon Polenz as celebrant. Committal will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. Memorial contributions in EJ's memory may be made to either the Sacred Heart Church of Sidney or to Sacred Heart-Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 442 Fairview Avenue Hudson, NY 12534. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
