Norman P. Neer Sidney, NY Norman Philip Neer, 65, of Sidney passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Norman was born on September 16, 1947, son of the late Philip and Marjorie (Van Kleeck) Neer in Walton. Norm served in the National Guard and the Army Reserves. He was a foundry man, which he took great pride in, working at Walton Foundry Co. in Walton for thirty years then going to work for George Haynes Foundry in Bloomville. As a young man, Norman enjoyed fishing with his father. He also liked to garden and work in the flower beds and was an avid reader, especially westerns. His favorite hobby was painting; his home was decorated with several of his works. Norm is survived by: His wife, Sharon Neer Son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Maria Sheffer Two Daughters: Wanda Sheffer and Katherine Sheffer One granddaughter, Nadia Chreno Sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Paul Finch Sister, Joan Kelsey Sister-in-law, Ida Mae Oidtman and her husband, Lother And Brother-in-law, David Burr Norm was predeceased by his son, Christopher Neer, in 2004. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 16th at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney with Rev. Kenneth Southworth officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Norm may be directed to the First Baptist Church, 28 River Street Sidney, NY 13838. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
