William Knowles Sidney, NY William Knowles, 78, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012. He passed unexpectedly doing the thing he enjoyed most.fishing; which is exactly the way he always said he wanted to go. William was a resident of Sidney for over 40 years and a retiree of Keith Clark with 39 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois (Cornell) Knowles; daughters Donna Jorett of New Orleans, LA and Caryn Seymour of Mt. Upton; six grandchildren: Tricia and Chris Luca, Paul and Nicole Jorett, Dawn Jorett, Donald Titus, Tim Seymour and Tori Seymour; and six great grandchildren: Cameron Luca, Parker Luca, Angelina Titus, Aaron Jorett, Zoey Seymour and Donald Titus, IV. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Rodriguez. In addition to his love of fishing, Bill also enjoyed softball, bowling and hunting. He was an avid supporter and mentor to his children and grandchildren in all the sports they played at B-G and Sidney High Schools. Bill was always willing to help others whenever possible. He was a wonderful, kind, loving man who was admired and loved by all those who knew him. Bill was known for saying, "You only go this way once". He left a great example and will never be forgotten. Friends are invited to call from 11:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Return A Gift To Wildlife", Division of Fish, Wildlife and Marine Resources, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233-4751.
