Louis Gioielli Sidney, NY Louis Gioielli, currently residing in Sidney, passed away on September 17, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. He was born in Queens, NY on May 5, 1947. Louis was the loving husband to Carol, father to the late Jennifer and Michael, and grandfather to Frankie and Sarah. He was a graduate of Flushing High School and Queensborough Community College. Louis served as a Sergeant for the US Army in Vietnam. He was a decorated Veteran, receiving such commendations as: the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal and numerous others. He retired after 30+ years with Verizon in New York City. He resided in Seaford, LI for 30 years before relocating to Sidney. He was the kindest, sweetest, most generous, loving and wonderful person you would ever want to know. We will miss you dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Sidney Assembly of God Church, Plankenhorn Road, Sidney. Rev. Bernie Knutsen will officiate. Burial will follow in Masonville Cemetery, Masonville. A luncheon will be held at 1:00pm at the Sidney Assembly of God Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louis' name may be directed to the Sidney Emergency Squad. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
