Eleanor P. Munk Bainbridge, NY Eleanor Prothero Munk, age 89, went to the Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2012. She was born in Binghamton and attended St. Paul High School as well as Hartwick College in Oneonta. Mrs. Munk was employed by Bendix Corp in Sidney during WWII and the NYS Police from 1964 thru 1983. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, its Altar-Rosary Society, and St. Agnes of Assisi Secular Franciscans. Eleanor enjoyed the Tri-Town Hiking Club and the Bainbridge Woman's Club. She also enjoyed traveling to Bavaria, Italy, Israel, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia and Bosnia. Eleanor is survived by her children: Linda (Robert) Krolick, Sacramento, CA; Ruth (Michael) Gorman, Six Mile, SC; and John (Mary) Munk, Bainbridge; also by four grandchildren, David (Heidi) and Jennifer Krolick and Rachel and Matthew Gorman and one great grandchild, Robert Krolick. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 34 South Main St. Bainbridge with Fr. Darr Schoenhofen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org or the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org.
