Afton, NY
Ellsworth L. Page, Sr., age 90, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Ann, on
Monday, January 30, 2012. Born in Peckville, PA, he resided in Afton, NY and spent the past 8 years residing in Beaver Dams, NY with his daughter and son-in-law. Beside his parents and his wife, Ellsworth was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Page.
He proudly served his country in WWII in the Seabees. Ellsworth worked most of his life in construction as a welder/shop foreman, retiring from Holbet Mining, W. VA.
After retiring, he enjoyed life with his wife Ann, family and friends, loving fishing at Sandy Pond, Lake Ontario. In his life he inspired many people along with helping many in need.
He was a member of The Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons for 50 years, the Shriners, American Legion, VFW and North Afton United Methodist Church where he had served on the board and had been Sunday school superintendent.
Ellsworth will be remembered by his family, son Ellsworth (Betty) Page Jr. (his children:
Paula, Susie, Danny and JJ) son Richard J. (Barbara) Page (their children Penny, Shelly and James) and daughter Ann (Dale) Crans (their son Beau Tiffany), the spouses of his grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Come and celebrate his life on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 7:00-9:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838. A Masonic service will follow at 9:00pm. Burial, with military honors, will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton at 11:00am on Saturday, April 7, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ellsworth may be directed to the North Afton United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Ellsworth Page Sr. c/o Earla Mulwane, 311 Cty. Rd. 17, Afton, NY 13730. Ellsworth's family wishes to thank Pastor Charlie of Shady Grove Wesleyan Church and the staff at Bethany Center and Arnot Ogden Hospital.
