Jacob M. Peake Franklin, NY Jacob M. Peake 85 of Franklin passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta. He was born June 25, 1926, son of the late Maurice and Margaret (Milk) Peake in Franklin. Jake proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Army for three wars; WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After being honorably discharged in 1968 Jake worked locally for 25 years until he retired. He married Yoko (Sekine) in Japan in 1964; she predeceased him in 1987. Jake was a member of the Sidney Moose Lodge, Sidney VFW and the Sidney American Legion. He loved to fish, hunt and make people laugh. He will be remembered for his stories and for being a jokester. He is survived by: Daughter - Maki Peake, Franklin Special friend, Mary Romano, Franklin And several nieces and nephews. Jake is predeceased by 4 sisters, Caroline Jordan, June Hammond, Elizabeth Neish and his twin sister, Jean Special Sturrock; Nephew and fishing buddy; Denny Jordan and Niece, Michelle Special. Friends may call from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made toward the Sidney Veterans Memorial Park payable to the Sidney Community Foundation PO Box 333 Sidney, NY 13838 or the Delaware Valley Humane Society 101 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.
