Irene W. Phillips

Irene W. Phillips, 90, of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. Irene was born on April 22, 1921, daughter of the late Alvin and Margaret (Watts) Austin in Butternuts, NY. She was employed as an Inspector for Amphenol Corp. in Sidney until her retirement in 1986, and was a member of the I.A.M. & A.W. Local Union. On June 16, 1986, she married William F. Phillips in Sidney.

Irene is survived by:

Her husband, Bill Phillips

Three children: daughter, Ginny Giles; son, Tom Phillips and Nancy Millspaugh; and daughter, Marge and Jim Johnson.

Grandchildren: Leslie Ford, Chuck Bronson and Wendy Binns, Michelle and Ryan Brock, Kalliste Giles, Stefany and Jason Reardon, Alyson and Gordon Keller, Ricky Phillips, Tommy Phillips, Diane and Michael Thorton and Steve Ford.

Great-Grandchildren: Katie Schultes, Eryn Bronson, Mellissa Bronson, Madisyn Reardon and Riley Keller

And many others that she has cared for through the years.

As well as her companions, Bonnie and Maggie, her Bichon and Bichoranian dogs.

Irene was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Ford.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 1:00-4:00pm on Sunday, December 11th at the home of Marge Johnson, 872 County Highway 3 (Martin Brook Road), Unadilla, NY 13849. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Irene's name may be made to either the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838 or to the Sidney Dollars for Scholars c/o Shirley Ford Memorial Scholarship Fund, 42 Union St. Sidney, NY 13838.
