Russell C. Germond Sidney, NY Russell C. Germond, 92, of Sidney passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the A.O. Fox Nursing Facility in Oneonta. He was born September 14, 1919, son of the late Arthur E. and Julia (Campbell) Germond in Oneonta. Russell served his country in the United State Army Air Corp during WWII. He married Ruth Soules on September 20, 1941 in the Elm Park United Methodist Church in Oneonta. She predeceased him on August 17, 2011. Russell worked at Bendix - Scintilla in Sidney from 1940 until he retired in 1983 as a Senior Lab Technician. He was a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church. Russell was also a pilot. He enjoyed flying with friends and family for many years. He is survived by Son and Daughter-in-law - Russell and Sharon Germond, Masonville Daughter and son-in-law - Carolyn and Thomas Tolley, Oneonta Several grandchildren and great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Friends are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care 1 Birchwood Drive Oneonta, NY 13820.
