David W. Coons Sidney, NY David W. Coons, 79, of Sidney, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 surrounded by his family. David was born on May 5, 1932 in Walton, NY, son of the late Keith and Marjorie Coons. David served honorably in the US Army from 1952 until 1954, and was with the Reserves until 1960. On November 5, 1955, he married Beverly Jean Hoffman in Walton. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Jean Coons; his sister, Sonja Bartlett; loving children: Vickie Evans and her husband, Patrick, Cindy Carey and her husband, Rick, Laurie Dimura, David Coons, Jr. and his wife, Ginny, and Jeffrey Coons. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jennifer, Chase, Nicole, David, Phillip, Joshua, Erin, Matthew, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jr. and Haven; and seven great-grandchildren: Celeste, Mason, Dakota, Cameron, Trevor, Zach and Alissa Mae. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Keith. Friends are invited to call from 4:00-6:00pm on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am on Monday, October 10th at the funeral chapel with Rev. Carl Butler, pastor of Pines Brook Baptist Church in Walton, officiating. Military honors will be rendered following the service. Burial will take place in Trout Creek Cemetery.
