Charles E. Welcher Sidney, New York Charles E "Chuck" Welcher 69 of Sidney, New York passed away Friday evening July 15, 2011 from injuries sustained in an auto accident at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y. He was born December 16, 1941 in Sidney, N.Y. the son of the late Lewis A. and Elsie Gloeckler Welcher. Chuck was a graduate of the Sidney Senior High School. On December 11, 1976, he married Cynthia Spandau at the Sidney United Methodist Church. For several years he owned and operated the Smart Bootery on Main Street in Sidney. Chuck enjoyed his daily group meeting with his friends at the Country Store on Union Street in Sidney, N.Y. He is survived his wife of 35 years Cynthia L. Welcher of Sidney 2 sons Robert L. Welcher of Chicago, Ill. Chad C. Welcher of Sidney Brother-in-law William K. Davis of Otego, N.Y. 2 Nieces Christine Chase of Florida Jennifer Fotiades of Boston, Mass Nephew Scott Davis of Otego, N.Y Chuck was predeceased by his brother Richard L. Welcher and a sister Alma Davis. Friends are invited to call from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the C. H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Street,, Sidney, N. Y. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Benjamin Shaw, officiating.
