Leo T. Caden Unadilla, NY Leo T. Caden, 94, formerly of Sidney-Unadilla Road, Unadilla, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Lehigh Center, Macungie, PA. Leo was born on September 10, 1916 in Starrucca, PA, son of the late William T. and Grace (Shoeman) Caden. He graduated from Laurel Hill Academy in Susquehanna, PA. Following high school, Leo joined the US Navy. He was honorably discharged in December 1945 as an Aviation Electrician Mate 1st Class. On June 24, 1950, Leo married Louise H. Hyatt in Sidney. She predeceased him on January 22, 1998. Leo was a longtime employee of NYSEG in Sidney, retiring as Chief Lineman. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Sidney, and was a Charter Member of the Sidney B.P.O.E. #2175. Leo is survived by: His son, Mr. William G. Caden of Riverside, NJ His daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Bonnie J. and Ronald L. Belknap of Kempton, PA Two sisters: Mrs. Marcella McMahon of Baldwinsville, NY and Mrs. Monica Pooler of Susquehanna, PA Sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Caden of Clarks Summit, PA Brother-in-law, Mr. Francis Ziegler of Oxford, NY Four Grandchildren: Erica Caden, Andrew Caden, Jeremy Belknap and Jennifer Belknap As well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Leo was predeceased by his brother, Francis, and his sister, Rosemary. Friends may call from 11:00am-12noon on Monday, June 13, 2011 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A memorial service will follow at 12noon with Rev. Patricia Robinson, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Sidney, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Leo's name may be directed to the First Congregational Church, 1 Bridge Street Sidney, NY 13838.
