George F. Wilson, Jr. 66 of Afton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 3, 2011 at his home.

He was born on August 2, 1944 to the late George and Frances (Nicholson) Wilson in Poughkeepsie, NY

George was a logger for 40 years. He worked in Maine, Connecticut and New York. In his younger days, he played baseball in New Milford, CT and competed in logging competitions throughout many states.

George was an avid Yankee fan. He loved the NY Giants and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

His loving wife of 46 years, Christine Wilson, Afton

Daughter and son-in-law - Heaven and Doug Barnes, Masonville

And 3 granddaughters Abby, Zoey and Molly.

Father - George R. Wilson

Cousin - Karen Lynn and Robert Jackson

Sister-in-laws - Donna and George Bahr, Sally Rodger, Dale and Robert Hanna, Debbie Rodger and Calvin, Diane and Dennis MacDonald

Brother-in-laws - Wayne and Pam Rodger, Gary Rodger, Doug Rodger, Daniel and Karen Rodger, Robin Rodger

He is also predeceased by His In-laws, Doug and Sue Rodger and brother-in-law, James Rodger

Friends may call Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 5-8 PM and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM Monday in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton.
