Margaret Cycon Sidney, NY Margaret Gill Cycon died at her home May 17, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born February 7, 1923 in Walton, New York, the daughter of Louise (Hoyt) and Joseph Gill. Her family later moved to Sidney where she lived for her entire life. In 1943 she married the love of her life, Joe Cycon. He predeceased her in 1990. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Terry) Dermody, Nancy (Ed) Gunn, and Monica (Pat) Lynch. She was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear cousin Grace Hoyt Wright. Her family was her greatest joy and the focus of her life and she reveled in their accomplishments and in watching them grow. She was a good friend to all and much loved in her community. She held the title of "Queen of the Trackside Diner" and very much enjoyed holding court there. Friends are invited to call from 1-3:00pm on Friday, May 20, 2011 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3:00pm at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St., Sidney. Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr. Oneonta, New York 13820. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney.
