Jean A. Scofield

Jean A. Scofield, 73, of Sidney, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at A.O. Fox Nursing Facility in Oneonta. Jean was born on December 31, 1937, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Fitch) Sherman in Trout Creek. On August 6, 1955, she married Rexford A. Scofield in Trout Creek.

6 Children: Linda Balcom and Pete Donenko of Sidney

Nancy and Michael Odell of Masonville

Rexford Scofield, Jr. of Afton

Dianne and Steve VanValkenburgh of Masonville

Wayne Scofield of Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Alan and Jennifer Scofield of Greene

15 Grandchildren: Yvonne Swislosky, Anatolie Donenko, Joshua Butler, Seth, Caleb and Kilee Odell, Leslie, Jessie, Jamie and Dakota VanValkenburgh, Wayne, Jr., Chad and Andrew Scofield and Nolan and Natalie Scofield.

Brothers Jim Sherman and Gary Sherman, both of Walton

A sister-in-law, Virginia (William) Sherman of Walton

In addition to her parents, Jean was also predeceased by her brother, William Sherman.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Chaplain Joseph Bokel of Catskill Area Hospice will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean's name may be directed to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr. Oneonta, NY 13820.
