Obituary of Myrtle Della Kinne

Myrtle H. Kinne Sidney Center, NY Myrtle Della (Howe) Kinne, 81, a long time resident of Sidney Center, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, February 28, 2011 at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi. Myrtle was born on December 5, 1929, daughter of the late Elmer and Josie (Buchannan) Howe in Otego. She graduated from Sidney Central School with the class of 1947, where she was a cheerleader and softball player. On August 5, 1951, Myrtle married the love of her life, Kenneth M. Kinne, at the Sidney Center Baptist Church. Myrtle loved the Lord, and was a devoted member of the Sidney Center Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed sports: playing them in her younger years, and watching them as well. She especially liked the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees; and although she didn't enjoy golf, she did like to watch Tiger Woods. Myrtle was a gifted seamstress, and she also enjoyed singing in her beautiful alto voice. She adored babies and children and was very good with them. Myrtle loved her family and friends dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be sorely missed. Myrtle is survived by: Loving husband of nearly 60 years, Kenneth M. Kinne of Sidney Center 2 Sons and daughters-in-law: Larry W. and Dale Kinne of Hamilton Gary D. and Judy Kinne of Merrickville 1 Daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie K. and David Bartlett of Goose Creek, SC 10 Grandchildren: Devin, Nolan and Nicole Kinne, Alisha, Duane, Gary and Clint Kinne and Ken, Ben and Keith Bartlett 1 great granddaughter, Natalie Dean Sister, Margie Steele Brother, Jesse Howe As well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters: Helen, Isabelle and Ruthie; and three brothers, Raymond, Oscar and Kenneth. Friends are invited to call on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6:00-8:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Sidney Center Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Murray, pastor officiating. Burial will be private at a later date in Highland Cemetery in Sidney Center.
