Charles S. Hopkins, Sr. Afton, NY Charles S. Hopkins, Sr., 77, of Afton, passed away peacefully late Saturday night, January 22, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Charles was born on November 27, 1933 in Trenton, NJ. He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1953 until 1957. On December 13, 1959, Charles was married to Emilie Fouquet in New Jersey. She predeceased him in 1979. Charles was a laminator at Indian Country in Deposit for several years. He is survived by: 3 children: son, Charles Hopkins, Jr. and his wife, Roberta of Nineveh; daughter, Heidi Wenner and her husband, Jim of Afton; and son, David Hopkins, Sr. of Afton 8 Grandchildren: Brian and his wife, Katie; Jessica; David, Jr. and his wife, Alyce; Micah; Meghan; Charles, III; Justin and Courtney. 4 great grandchildren: Blake, Emilie, Mackenzie and Chad, Jr. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins In addition to his wife, Charles was predeceased by three sisters: Lillian, Dorothy and Pearl. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 5:00-7:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Fred Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Perch Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.
