Obituary of Fred A. Drachler

The Angels of the Lord descended down from Heaven to receive Fred Drachler on December 30, 2024. He was 87 years old. Fred was born January 6, 1937 in Bainbridge, NY to Fred and Henrietta Drachler. He had four sisters, Ruth, Nora, Doris and Martha, and one younger brother, Keith. Fred graduated from Bainbridge Central High School in 1956, and Paul Smith College with an Applied Arts and Science degree. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Parker, in 1958.
They moved to Denver, CO where Fred attended the University of Denver, graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Major, and Business Law minor. Fred and Barbara had three children, Terry, Connie and Tammy. The family moved to Chicago, IL in 1962 and lived there for 19 years. Fred was Vice President and General Manager for the Henrici's Restaurants Co. for 16 years. Fred started the Green Giant Restaurant division while being employed at Henrici's.
Fred lost his wife Barbara to illness in 1974 and he moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1975. He was Vice President and General Manager of Corp Bobby McGee's Restaurant Co. Fred bought and ran Bobby McGee's on Hampden Avenue and ran it from 1982-1989. He built another Bobby McGee's in Littleton, CO. Fred also owned a Landscape and Design Company, Fred's More Green, from 1990-2020. He married Rita Usmanova in 2001 and they were happily married for almost 24 years.
Fred enjoyed skiing, playing golf, hunting, all sports, NASCAR racing and most of all trout fishing in Wyoming. He always felt blessed for having so much and appreciated all the people he knew in his long life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 32 South Main St., Bainbridge, NY 13733. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge.
