Obituary of Josephine S. Cuozzo

Josephine S. Cuozzo, 82, of Sidney passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
She was born on December 22, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Peter D. and the late Phyllis T. (Giordano) Approbato. She grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Manual Training High School in June of 1959 and started working for the Federal Government. On September 30, 1962, she was married to Ralph Cuozzo in Jackson, NJ. They moved updated in 1962.
Jo was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and crafting. She reentered the workforce after her children were in high school working as an executive secretary at Camp Brace in Masonville.
Josephine dedicated her life to her family and the family business, RC Sales and Service.
She is survived by: two daughters, Patricia and Jeffrey N. Halbert and Phyllis and Richard Vogel; son, Ralph, Jr. and Leslie Cuozzo; grandchildren: Jeffrey M. and Nadine Halbert, Sara Beth Halbert, Anthony Halbert, Michael Vogel, Matthew Vogel (Fiancée Samantha), Marissa Cuozzo, Gabriella Cuozzo and Camren Cuozzo; great grandchildren: Madison Joleen Halbert, Harper Josephine MacPherson and Jonathan Ralph Halbert; sister, Sara and Richard Husta; brother, Joseph Approbato; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Libby Lipert and children.
In addition to her husband Ralph and her parents, Jo was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Peter Approbato and sister, Marion Approbato.
Friends may call on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00noon on Tuesday, November 5th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 15 Liberty St. Sidney.
Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jo's memory may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
