Doris (Johnston) Ferrara, age 100, of Sidney, NY, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Guthrie-Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY.

She was born April 14, 1924 in Cadosia, NY, the daughter of Harvey T. Johnston Sr. and Edith M. (Wormuth) Johnston.

She married Carl R. Ferrara, Sr. on May 30, 1942 in Oneonta.

She worked for Bendix Scintilla, presently Amphenol, for nearly 35 years retiring in 1985. She held various positions with her final 15 years being a Tool Crib Attendant.

She was a member of East Guilford Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the I.A.M. & A.W. Local 1529 and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, Sidney.

Doris was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her son, Roscoe; her daughter-in-law, Joyce; brothers, Roscoe Johnston, Harvey Johnston Jr. and William Johnston; and sister, Charlotte McCabe.

She is survived by her children: John and Pat Ferrara; Jerry Ferrara and Carl Ferrara Jr.; sister-in-law Veronica Johnston; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours or services upon her request. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
